New Beginnings

"God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NCV)
When you become a Christian, several important things take place in heaven and earth. Early on, all you may be able to say is that you recognize Jesus Christ of the Bible to be your Savior and God.
Then you realize that you are different. You have been marked in the sight of demons and angels as someone who has changed. There is a supernatural element to your life that was missing.
You have a new standing before God; He looks at you through the lens of His Son Jesus. Your sin is covered. God is not blind, but His feelings toward you and dealings with you are now based on what Jesus did for you by dying on a cross. You will begin to lose your taste for sin and find yourself wanting to please God in a new way.
You now have a new family too—you are a part of God’s family. You may discover that some Christians are hard-headed, tackless, boring or fake. But we are all in process; we are all on a journey. Remember that God loves them even if you find it hard to. Just treat them like you’d want to be treated.
Finally you need to know that you are now a sworn foe of the legions of hell. But don’t fear them. The God inside you terrifies them. They can seduce you, and they will try. They will oppose you. If you play it cool and decide not to be too committed to Christ, you will have no trouble from them. But if you are serious about following Jesus, you can expect opposition. Remember God has placed His Spirit inside you to help you fight the battle.
