Matrix

1 John 5:19 says, “We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one.”
Perhaps you’ve seen the movie “The Matrix”. In that movie the main character ‘Neo’ finds out that the life he thought he was living was only a dream. A whole city of people had been enslaved by machines and was living a lie.
Neo is awakened out of his sleep and his attachment to the machines and finds out that the real world is much different than the world he thought he knew. Although the real world is less safe and much harder than his dream world—he decides to champion the cause of setting others free from the dream world.
Our Christian life is not much different. Paul writes in his second letter to Corinth that “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” We have all been a part of that dream world. When we were dead because of our disobedience and our many sins, God gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. We’ve been taken out of the matrix and given new life in Christ.
So we’ve been awakened from our sleep. Time is running out, God has not only called us to wake up but to awaken others as well. Time is short, the world is under the control of the evil one and we have our marching orders. Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus, and rescue everyone you can.
